dear girl on the phone crying under the b17 gate sign in the atlanta airport,

it's been four months since i saw you crying while sitting on the dirty airport floor.
i had just arrived at my gate with my iced coffee, ready and armed for the flight. i was just thinking how pretty you were when we made brief eye contact. you smiled a brave smile and i noticed your eyes were red and puffy. i went back to my seat, but couldn't shake you from my mind.
i'm sorry i wasn't brave enough to give you a hug and tell you everything was going to be alright.

dear sam's club guy with stellar hair and deep brown eyes,

it was a saturday and the place was insanely busy. i was feeling introverted and didn't really want to be there, but then you made eye contact, flashed a winning smile, walked over and asked me if i had been finding everything okay.
i smiled and nodded. you told me to have a wonderful day and flashed that smile again.
my day turned out pretty wonderfully, thank you.
